Couch/ cushion fuzz

What fabric did you choose? That doesn't sound normal to me and I doubt your house has been invaded by a bunch of frat boys! I would go back to the store to see what they have to say and contact the manufacturer to see what they can do for you.

Must be polyester fabric which pills. turn regularly

You won't like this.. but having sold furniture I can say your material is not up to standards needed for a couch. It can be shaved, but each time you do this the material gets thinner. Furniture stores seldom put the best material on their couches in the showroom. Cheaper prices bring ppl in . Find a couch you like , ask for samples of the upholstery and pick the best one you can afford. The material should come with info on each piece about wear strength. Make sure you ask the store how to read the code.

Would you consider covering it?

You can purchase a battery-operated fuzz remover. Follow the directions. They cost around $10. To prevent future fuzzies, make sure you're not rubbing your feet against the material on the cushions. This creates fuzz. You can always put down a sheet before you lay on the sofa. Then when you have people over, you can remove it and your sofa will still look new.
