One of my palm trees is loosing its bark. Right where the sprinkler

hits the tree. Is there a wrap of some kind I can put on it? Or will I loose the tree. It's about 20' tall, looks look except for 2' area where sprinkler hits it.

You really should try to move the sprinkler. You're making your palm much more vulnerable to disease the way it is. Water is going to get trapped behind any kind of wrap and just create different problems.

Damage already done, Now the focus is preserving the palm tree. I have determined you are running the sprinkler system for long periods at times. base on your picture the palm tree has greenery from the rotting area to the base of the tree. that means lots of water, and no or low air circulating with high humidity... 1. must move the sprinkler. 2. clear soil around base and add some sand( construction sand) 3. channel any water away from the tree base trunk 4. fertilize the tree and 5.think of an alternative for after everything fails and you need to redo the landscape bed..... My advice.

can you temporarily shield the tree with a splash screen in front of the sprinkler until you can move it? like a half circle on one side to direct the water without losing use of that spout until it can be changes out? Or change the head to a soaker that waters from under the soil? If you can't put anything on the tree that would hold water.

Nothing you can do except move the sprinkler. Alas, alackaday though, your palm is now very susceptible to rot and bacterial disease. Palms are monocots and are not like trees with a cambium layer that will heal. Prepare for the inevitable - the palm will not be long-lived.

Move the sprinkler before replacing the tree. The tree is damaged, Don't think it can be saved. Have it cut down/removed before it falls and cause damage to home/car, ect. (Home insurance may help pay to have it cut down/removed...will save them from having to pay for damage if it falls) When you replace the tree, be sure the sprinkler is not hitting it or change it to a soaker head.
