I like using my tablet for following recipes, while coooking, I would go and print the recipe out and you can only imagine what that piece of paper looked like at the end of mixing the ingredients and I'm putting the item in the oven. I was constantly trying to find the recipe . Since fixing up the clipboard, I think I'm a little more organized, maybe. It was fun to make and you can use any decor you have, anything goes.
A gift for yourself or others
The supplies I used on the clipboard, we're 9x13 clipboard, easel or backing from a picture frame, 2 small pieces of wood, scrapbook paper or fabric, 2 drawer pulls, burlap ribbon, acrylic paint, glue, royal coat decoupage and random trinkets and flowers for decorating. I bought most items from the dollar store. The more expensive items , royal coat decoupage and some decorative items, were from hobby lobby using a 40% off coupon. I'm sure there are cheaper decoupage finish, but it was my first project using it.
I started this project by painting both sides of the clipboard and the 2 small pieces of wood. The color I chose was close to the color of the clipboard, but it matched my scrapbook paper I chose for the front. Let it dry. I next attached the easel or backing from photo frame. I used gorilla glue for this part. The next step was placing the 2 wooden pieces in place. One I glued under the clip so it would stay open and act like a support for tablet or notebook. I'm sure you wouldn't want anything that strong holding it in place. The other piece of wood I placed on the bottom, measuring the size of tablet or notebook, it will act like a shelf. The fun part comes next, decorating, I know I over did it, but I knew when not in use I would have it out on my countertop, so when not in use, I put a picture of a family member. You can also hang it on the wall when not in use.
I decoupage the front and back with my scrapbook paper, used royal coat and followed directions. When dry, it's ready to hang out on the counter or a wall.
Clipboard in use, but there's a beautiful place to display family when not in use...
Be gentle with the comments. It's my first post, I would like to keep doing these posts, and learn to do better with each project. Thank you and enjoy.
