Winter Walk in the Woods

by Julie J
Some nature shots in and around our property and woods. These were prior to the big storm last weekend.
Low mounding grass. I love the color and texture it provides in the wintertime.
Bracts have such a pretty subtle green color.
Rescued from the trash.
Look up! Grey skies this day.
My father in law marked the property many years ago, and this tree grew around the wire.
Fossil!
Not sure who was here...
The water has receded in the creek. It was pretty high for a while.
Water was so clear this day.
Creek rocks
"hello, is there anybody in there?" Not sure if anybody's hanging out in there or not.
This huge log got lifted up here in a flood.
I love the way it looks, all gnarled. I would love to move it up in the yard closer to the house.
Tracks
Wild barberry I think. The red berries are so pretty against the otherwise lack of color.
Conch or bracht. I love the colors
Bench. It's one of my thinking spots.
Just hanging around waiting for the kids, and spring!

Thank you @Douglas Hunt and @Lisa@ Sweet Tea N' Salty Air! I was thinking raccoon, too or squirrels. There's a lot of wildlife out there. We had the cutest trio of fawns for a few weeks last year. Momma' didn't make it, sadly.
