Just wanted a contractor's perspective: I re sided my townhome 3 years ago using Hardi Plank and the Behr Paint with

the built in primer. The paint is fading in spots and peeling in other areas. The contractor has agreed to redo the troubled areas, but would like to know if other contractors have experienced similar problems with this paint brand or would it be do to the application? Thanks RC

    Hello,

Call me "old fashioned" but I just don't trust these new 2-in-1 paints. I advise to remain with the tried and true method of a separate primer and then a finish coat over it.

Thanks for your insight. Spoke directly with another contractor last week and he too, found the combo paints less durable than the orginal way. Good to know and thanks.
