How do I protect my outdoor wooden planters?

I have four wooden planters I want to use as tables on my deck, however, I want to protect the wood from the elements and slow the weathering process. I'm not sure what kind of wood they are but the description said "teak finish". What product should I use to protect the wood? ( I plan on topping each with a thick piece of glass.)

I annually put a coat of paint on my outdoor wooden planters. If your planters are bare wood, or have weathered over time, try a waterproof brush-on sealant, like that used for outdoor wooden decking.
I have almost the same ones 1- on front porch and 2-at side door entrances and I sprayed mine with fences stain then I waited a few days I spray painted them black and I bought an insert that protected from rotting inside to out side. Here's a photo of what mine look like now and it's been 3 years, of course I touch them up each year With the black paint but were the exact color before I sprayed them.

These are wonderful! I love the glass idea, make sure it is tempered glass. I would also put wheels or casters on them that have locks. One, easy to move around as needed and two, will last longer than having direct contact with the ground.
