How to Keep Patio Cushion Inserts Dry

I have a simple tip to keep patio cushions dry. I shared this with my family and I got the highly anticipated eye roll. But when has that stopped me from moving forward on a project?
Time: 15 Minutes Cost: $1 Difficulty: Easy
The solution is simple and most of you have to look no further than under your kitchen sink.
Last summer, with a forecast of more than two days of rain, I worried about how to keep my patio cushions from getting soaking wet. It wasn't practical to bring them inside for every afternoon thunderstorm. But, who wants to sit in a soggy patio cushion when the weekend comes around?
And, then inspiration struck when I grabbed a handful of plastic kitchen bags. It turns out plastic trash bags are a great resource to keep the foam cushions dry.
I used kitchen size plastic bags, but if you are like me and save plastic bags and packing material other, you could upcycle other plastic bags. I like the ease of tying the end of the bag shut.

Materials I used for this project:

  • Plastic kitchen size garbage bags
