I like your choices today. It opens the mind to expand and dig through the cupboards for interesting pieces that might lend mood and detail. Thank you!!!!

Years ago when I was very young, my mother only had a four place setting of her good dishes, it worked well since there were only four of us, but holidays and special occasions always worried her she had some white dishes that she had gotten at a rummage sale and she always used the white dishes with her blue willow and some hammered aluminum serving pieces that she used. I always thought mom's table was beautiful. when I got married I had a beautiful set of fine china, but I was never happy with the way it looked, so I bought a set of blue willow and started collecting good pieces of white vintage pieces and hammered aluminum. I now have a good collection and I love them, every time I set my table I think of my precious mom who would be bewildered by my choice with keeping my beautiful china in the china cabinet. Go figure, mom always was ahead of her time without even knowing. I even have some navy blue fiesta plates I will use sometime.
