We just moved into a new (but smaller) home. I've been looking for ways to save space.
I ran across this idea on Pinterest and just had to try it out!
I cant stand the sight of furry animal beds on the living room floor, wherever, being an eye sore not matching the decor.
My daughter just got a 7 week old kitten named Maybee. This was the perfect project for these two!
I picked up the table for $5 at my local thrift store.
The sheet was .50 as was the pillow.
I already had left over paint and primer from previous projects.
The entire project cost me $6.
I couldn't be happier!!!
The before picture.
Sanded with 80 grit sand paper.
Scrubbed down with TSP.
Primed with Sherwin Williams Multi Purpose Bonding Primer.
Added little hook to the two pillars I wanted as the entrance. Primed and painted them along with the table.
2 coats of paint. I used Sherwin Williams All Surface Enamel in a Satin finish.
Now time for the decor!!!
I cut along the 4 corners of a fitted sheet. By doing so the elastic came out very easy.
I then cut off the excess material. With my very cute assistant Miss Maybee. 🙂
I then folded the material and glued the edges together with a hot glue gun. I suppose sewing would be best, but I'm not that great at it. lol.
Then I used a staple gun to attach the material on the inside of the table. Both on top and bottom. I scrunched up the material to give it more personality.
The front after picture.
Back and side after picture.
Tossed in the pillow and done!!
I left the pillow detached for washing purposes.
My daughters new bedside table and our kittens new comfy and private bed!!!

I have a different question. Which is better to remove a small mildew infestation, vinegar or bleach? I am highly chemically sensitive.

Love it!! I have two cats and have spent a lot of money on cat beds. They wear out after while and are hard to wash, so there I go buying new beds. They like to sleep in the living room with me during the day and they each have their own corner of a wall. I just don't know if I can come up with a small piece of furniture for each that won't look out of place with my new furniture and not over crowd my living room. Suggestions anyone?

What a cute project, but I am concerned about the hooks. They could be a hazard to kitty eyes or other parts as MayBee grows and moves quickly. Maybe self stick velcro instead? One piece on the wooden leg and the other on the fabric.

This is awesome! Have a small dog and wanted a small area she could have to herself and this is perfect! It is so adorable. Thank you!😊

I just got a new kitten, he really needs a bed but I don’t have a place to put it. So this diy fixes every thing. Thank you for making this DIY!
