Oh What a Rush

Red Wind Studio

I had a woman contact me through Face Book and ask if I soldpaint and my reply was not yet but I am looking into it. She asked if I hadheard of Fat Paint. My response was no and I immediately started searching forit on the web. I found the company located out in BC Canada. I read a wholebunch of reviews and came to conclusion that if so many people are giving thethumbs up the paint must be good. So I contacted them.
A few days later I received some samples of paint and a jar of clear wax. See I love red, I am a red nut. When I opened the jar of red I knew I had found my new favourite red. So I painted 2 things red not just one. The results are completely different on each piece and I love both looks.
I painted this ornate frame red and added lots of silver gilding wax to the oval part of the frame and then added dark wax which toned down the silver and also removed some of it. The result is a deep aged red full of character and charm like a good wine.
Using a very soft cotton cloth I carefully buffed the frame to get a light satin finish. I was amazed at how smooth and creamy the Fat wax is. I haven't posted this one to my online store yet it may be a keeper. From deep rich reds to vibrant bright red I love the versatility.
Two coats of paint, clear wax and voilà a gorgeous red. How can you not like a red like this? Now for the kicker. Just to add to the fact the colour is so awesome the name is just fabulous. Some of you may not understand and I get thathttp://redwindstudio.ca/store/2014/02/02/oh-what-a-rush/

I am a huge fan of RED! My fav. thanks for sharing this new paint info. I haven't tried the AS paints, but have you and what do you think of this vs AS paints?
