There are no pictures. How and where was it planted? What is your location?

My neighbor has a huge backyard hedge of this. Keep it well pruned cause it can take over. But very pretty.

Here in the U.K. I have two in medium size pots and two in the ground. If left unchecked they will grow really fast!! When the flowers have gone over just cut them of and you will get some new flowers within about 3 weeks. You can cut then back to half their size when they have finished flowering. In early spring you can cut them hard back to about 3 inches from the ground and you will get a lovely bush for next summer. If you want more plants just cut of a dozen pieces about 6-8 inches long and just strip off any leaves near the bottom place them in a gallon bucket filled with a gritty compost, water them and just leave them close to the house and by the spring you should have a lot of new bushes for free. I broke some bits off , pushed them in the ground to stop next doors cats from using my freshly dug bed as a toilet and now I have 6 new bushes growing so yes, they are very easy to grow. Good luck. I have this plant and have hated it. Grows like a weed and never stops. Is actually up past the roof of my house. (giant bush not a tree) The bees loves it but haven't noticed any butterflies but they may come when I'm not there. Plant is on a side of house we do not go very often and behind a fence. Will give this new cutting instructions a go this year and may get it under control. I think it has helped our garden and fruit trees so do not want to destroy it.

Early each spring cut it down to about 6 inches. It will grow large in one season. I just throw a cup of Milorganite on mine in the spring after cutting down.
