I had this happen to me I used penut butter on the gum spots it got the gum off. Then took vinegar and a cloth and wiped the dryer tub out. Worked great for me!
Find Pink Solution. Many years ago an entire load of laundry was going to be thrown out. A piece of gum had been left in a pocket. Did the load again with a 1/2 cup of Pink Solution and the gum disappeared. An amazing product for many other uses. Costco Canada sells it at different locations. Not sure about the US.
There is a product callled: "GOOP OFF" it works G-R-EEEEE-AT!!!
Otherwisde you might try pulling out your hair dryer and trying that by applying heat to the gum and a heavy grate sand paper or blunt knife to scrape.
There is a product callled: "GOOP OFF" it works G-R-EEEEE-AT!!! Same answer I gave for the gum stuck on the inside dryer problem. You might want to try a low grate sandpaper and "Comet" or some other buffing power or liquid to remove it. I have the same problem but, am not concerned about it, I just got one of those tub mats with the "octopus tenticle" suctions pads across the length of the tub. Many come in colours or clear.
Try warming it by running the dryer empty for a bit. Then I would try "blotting" up the old gum with a fresh wad of chewed gum. Yes. Seriously.
