What a difference a couple of hours and a little stain can make. All I used was a can of wood stain for this fantastic transformation. Here are my tired and old deck boards. They were looking very neglected. Time for an update!
I used a power washer to clean any loose chippy paint from the deck boards. Simple enough, and ready to be stained.
I waited for Mother Nature to give me 3 consecutive sunny days. That was tough with this rainy Summer. But eventually it happened!
Once we could, we took everything off and gave it another good sweep.
I then got to staining the boards. It took me 4 1/2 hours to stain. I applied the product with a brush. It goes on very thick and it is easy to apply with very little drips. It requires 48 hours to dry completely before you can walk on it.
I missed one little spot on my stairs, it's on my TO-DO list. I will be giving the railings a re-fresh too once the sun decides to shine again. I just love the end result! Hope you get inspired. This colour is the brown. It comes in Adobe, White and Red.

Several years ago we used a water seal paint...very disappointing results because it did not hold up to weather. can this product be used over that after power washing?

Sorry to be a spoiled sport but after reading this article I was very impressed with this product and then I did some google research and two things interested me the most against Duckback SUPERDECK Elastomeric Deck & Dock Coating

#1 This product comes with a warning and I am quoting the information in the Warning "California Proposition 65 Warning: WARNING: This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and/or birth defects or other reproductive harm.

#2. This product comes with a negative review: The reviewer stated:

"This product does not hold up, after a year there were extensive mold problems and then it destroys the wood, which then needs to be replaced."
