Need suggestions for coastal Delaware sandy soil gardenscape.

Our soil is sand/clay mixture. We do have an irrigation system. I am requesting suggestions from those with experience in this environment for an easy care yet lovely patio border garden for a small narrow area that will afford us some privacy from close neighbors while not overpowering a small yard.

I live in southern VA and have the same type of soil. You could grow tall perennials such as purple conflowers or bee balm. A tall annual such as cleome would also add height for privacy to your area without overpowering it.
