I assume you mean hostas? The slugs are probably eating them. Place a couple of shallow dishes with beer in them around the plants. The slugs will climb in and drown.
I think you are saying Hostas. Are they planted in the shade? We have Hosta's all over and once planted some in the sunny part of the yard and they didn't like it. They also get thirsty. You might get some Preen and sprinkle around them as slugs like to eat on them. Good Luck!
apply crushed egg shells, food grade diatomeous earth ,spray them down with horticultural oil. As for the browning are they receiving enough water.
Do you know what's eating at your buffet? If it's rabbits, try putting moth balls around the plants. They will move on. If it's bugs, you can put down shredded Irish Spring bar soap. You can shred the soap on a box grater or even a food processor. This will also keep deer from eating your Hostas. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
The crushed egg shells and beer do work really well. Surprisingly I have had no slugs so far this year, but if I do, I will be using them to fight the creepy crawlies. Rabbits and squirrels will stay away if you use the irish spring shavings and cayenne pepper powder.
Ask them to go home..sorry, couldn't resist
