Could shiny dark laminate florring be treated to non-shiny, somehow?

      Now, onto your question. I'm wondering if maybe you couldn't strip off the wax or gloss. I know that Home Depot and Lowe's sell a stripper. Maybe you can strip it, refinish it or just put a lower "gloss" to seal it. I do know some of my friends use mineral spirits but I'm not well versed on that product. I wish I knew how to help you.   • Not really. Sorry. The finish you purchase is the finish you get. They are not like hardwood floors that you can sand down and refinish.

    Do you have any scrap pieces left? Practice on them... try a low lustre clear topcoat, or urethane. If you like it on the sample, use it on the floor. I recommend a foam roller rather than a fluffy one to avoid too much texture.

    You cannot strip or refinish laminate flooring . It's basically laminated cardboard .
