Get your sharpies kids... we're gonna color on the furniture!!
Time: 2 Hours Cost: $6 Difficulty: Easy
gather some supplies...
I didn't wind up using the foam brush.. It probably would have broke apart on me in the middle of the project. Didn't seem worth the fuss.
As for the glue, you can buy special glue from the store meant for decoupage/mod podge or you can mix your own, using one part glue and one part water. This mix has always worked for me. I have been using it for years.
Brush the glue over the surface
Place the paper you are gluing in place
Brush over the paper.
You should have a bit of work time to make sure it is in place but, I do not recommend moving it around too much for too long.
Wet paper does tear easy and glue does get sticky.
I used this little tool to push the paper into the grooves, at first. Then I learned that it was easier/better to wet the tip of my finger and just use my own finger.
I drilled finger boards and an old Dollar Store yoyo for handles.
:( I could only find one side of the yoyo. It would have been so much cooler to have both sides.
I'm sure it will turn up one day in my craft junk.
Materials I used for this project:
- Decoupage glue OR a mix of 1 part glue & 1 part water
- Paint brush
- Decorative paper
