Janet is sending you to the right place to find all the information you should need. I water mine by filling the ornamental outer top with tepid water and soaking the wood pieces for ten to fifteen minutes. Take inner pot out and drain well and then put it back into the ornamental pot. I do this weekly. I fertilize very infrequently. Trim only dead stems off as frequently your next flowers may come off the same stem. I keep mine in a south window that is bright but not direct sun. I have blooms two to three times a year that seem to last forever. Remember that orchids like tepid water soaks, not ice cubes!

My orchid blooms from March to July every year. I keep it out of drafts and in an east window that is shaded. I also have the pot in a hydration bowl to help keep the humidity regular. You just fill a shallow dish with some pebbles and fill it to the bottom of your orchid pot. I use an orchid food about 3 X a year.

.Most orchids are now hybrids, grown by the thousands in hot houses, thus the cheap price and perfect bloom for the market, rarely will you reproduce that perfect environment and bloom again.
