How do you repair the large bathroom mirrors when the finish has been scratched or chipped off the back side of a bathroom mirror?

  • If the silvering behind the mirror has been damaged, there is nothing you can do to fix this. If its along the edge, perhaps you can frame it to hid the damage, but if its more in the center your out of luck.

Krylon (i believe) makes a spray paint called "Looking Glass", which I think Kathy is referring to. This will not create a surface like that of a real mirror. It is slightly reflective when sprayed on the back of a piece of glass, but comes out "rustic" , and will be very noticeable. There's really nothing you can do to mend it to its former reflective glory. Sorry!

Maybe you can salvage a fairly large part and trim off the damages. I know what you mean, especially where the water splash's. Not much more to do, just like everybody said. Good luck! By the way, I did paste a boarder, to match my Bathroom once, that help cover most of the damaged area. Just FYI, in the wallpaper section.
