For the past few years I have been trying to grow a pumpkin for my grandsons but all I get is a lot of flowers but not even a hint of a pumpkin. Do they have to be grown on bare soil? I let my vines grow in the grass. What is the secret? more than one plant???

I throw mine out into the wind and wait for them to grow. I have gotten HUGE pumpkins. They don't need to be buried deep!
