I received this table from a curb and it had damage to the top but the rest was nice so I decided to give it a new life.
Before
I removed the drawer and taped newspaper around the legs to preserve the wood.
I roughed up the surface with sandpaper and wiped it with a damp cloth to remove the sanding dust and then I spray painted the base with the turquoise paint. I used a cloth and wiped on wood stain over the turquoise paint to antique the look and tone down the bright paint and sealed it with clear coat.
I wrapped the entire base with newspaper to protect the turquoise paint and painted the top with the purple paint.
I removed the knob to retain the wood and Used sap green watercolor and painted a thin coat onto the front of the drawer and sealed the drawer with the clear coat.
Acrylic paint supplies to add my image to the top. **NOTE** I added a bit of the brown paint to the green acrylic to tone down the green a bit.
I sketched the image I wanted onto paper and traced it onto the surface and it left an indent in the painted surface then I used a sharpie to outline the image.
I reversed the sketch and did a mirror image of the design.
I used the acrylic paint to fill in the image and sealed the entire table with clear coat. **NOTE**You can cut out your desired image and decoupage it to the top before clear coating. Even easier!
After
Let it dry and there you have it.

Thanks for the ideals,we have an old two tier round table, have it sanded and were wondering what to do now? This is an answer we talked about using paper dollies, like you use for cake plate liners and the like. The paint color was still in question. My Mom's table(free) she 's been playing with patterns and color but this will fill the bill, her main color is mauve,so I think bright and colorful will bring some of the other colors in the room to life. Thanks for the great ideal.

I love "new life" furniure projects & you had me until the gaudy purple. Liked the stencil though. Sorry, disliked the gaudy mix of colours

The great thing about projects like these is that you can recreate them using any colors that you enjoy. If the purple she used doesn't suit your personal tastes, use something else when you do it yourself and really customize it to fit your home decor. Some people want all of their stuff to match. Other people have an eclectic style and will mix and match. A few people want one stand-out "statement" piece. One man's trash is another man's treasure, and one woman's gaudy is another woman's gorgeous!

Not a stencil, it was hand painted. But thank you for the feedback. Fortunately I had many offers for the piece and accepted an offer of $350.00 for the gaudy piece.
