I've had good luck with stain wipes. I think Spray & Wash makes them. I carry them in my purse for spills, and I've used them when cleaning an upholstered chair, and cleaning a chocolate milkshake stain off a mattress.

I found a product in the car care aisle for cleaning car mats that was incredible. Ask at Target or your local big box store.

Steam cleaning is the way to go. If you don't have an appliance of your own, you can either rent a Rug Doctor at the market OR have the furniture professionally cleaned....it's a much less expensive solution than having to buy a new set of furniture.

Try equal amounts of hydrogen peroxide & plain club soda. Be sure to use a clean white rag. Do not overwet the fabric though.

Start by vacuuming the couch then steam clean it, start in an inconspicuous area and see how the fabric responds. If the steam cleaning does not work then get a carpet cleaner and follow directions on the product, again an inconspicuous area. As a last resort, paint the couch or reupholster.

  • Take a teaspoon of washing-up liquid, white vinegar, baking soda and warm water and mix together into a lather (the mixture should froth up as the baking soda and vinegar react with one another). Then, apply directly to any stains or smudges that you can spot on your fabric sofa. Leave to dry out for around 10 minutes.

There are small upholstery cleaning devices on the market. They usually come with a small amount of cleaning product that the company recommends. These are great as they clean by having a spray function for the cleaning liquid and also a vacuum function to then vacuum the solution and stains away so that the upholstery doesn't get too wet and into the filling beneath the upholstery. . Bissel and Hoover each manufactures upholstery cleaning machines. Use an upholstery brush to vacuum the piece well, mix the cleaning product w/water and place in the machine, spray an area of the furniture, let sit for several minutes and then use the cleaning machine to vacuum the area well. then use the spray on the Upholstery cleaning machine
