Plant flowers that repel insects in pots on your deck. Citronella and marigolds work on mosquitos.

Oh my goodness, nothing can ruin a nice summer evening faster than bugs bugging a person! The following link ha some good ideas to keep bugs away. Good Luck and thanks for asking Hometalk for suggestions ;)

thank you for the feedback..........I was also wondering about wasps and flies and earwigs!
Just for FYI...........lime juice sprayed doesn't do anything!
They say insects don't like citrus but apparently they find it refreshing.
