You can still run screws into the siding. If you decide later you want to remove the hangers just caulk in the holes with a matching colo caulk.
Hello Ingrid; I did this at one Home that I lived in.
I purchased heavy duty screws at Home Depot. I screwed them into the roof. They looked Lovely but did not last due to an influx of squirrels that kept jumping on the planters, as they were no doubt looking for a food source.

There are still studs under the siding, so you should be able to screw into the studs
