How can I repair a hole in my leather recliner?

I have a perfectly good leather recliner. However foot rest has a hole in. Not a little hole ever bit the size of the Silver Dollar. I have covered it and and at your recliner covers there's got to be away the Repair the hole? Does someone have any brilliant ideas?

I don't know how to make it look new, but you can put a leather patch on it and sew it. Tandy leather sell supplies for working with leather including needles, thread, and leather.

I fixed a rip on a Corvette leather car seat with a ''kit'', the kit has everything you need, even matches the texture and grain with a imprint utensil. Several good ones on Ebay, see which has the sq. inch repair amount you need.
I really appreciate your input. Ashley however, comments from customers make me very leary. I don't mind spending the money on something that will work. but as I read the process and what is used, I'm just afraid I'd be throwing my money out door, Have you tried this product yourself?
