Fodder is simply feed for animals such as cattle, goats, sheep, and even chickens. For my girls, I’m viewing it as a supplemental feed: a nutritious snack to give them an extra boost through the winter months when foraging for greens is scarce.

Jennifer Cazzola on Jun 01, 2014@Rachel, I'm not sure what the laws are within the city limits but there is a networking group on Facebook and I bet you could find out. (search for Inola Net Working Group, just like that: net working - two words ;) ) I think you'll find the climate very similar to Missouri and I would imagine the laws similar to those in the surrounding areas. Six hens allowed within a covered run at least 100' from a neighbor. Welcome to Inola! I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we have and good luck with your chickens.

Jennifer Cazzola on Jun 02, 2014I'm still a newbie too but we've found it to be a great community. I have found a lot of people here grow much of their own food too so you should fit in just fine. :)
