New coat of paint?
Here are a few things to try...Baking soda mixed with toothpaste...or WD-40....or alcohol... Try each of these to see if it helps.
sand the door and repaint. There are chemicals out there that will remove the permanent marker but leave a noxious smell in the house.
Powdered Comet or magic erasers . Both have worked well on this for me over the years .
alcohol or 100% Acetone (professional strength Nail Polish remover) will work -- but... may take off the finish on the door with it!
primer and paint.

I agree with Michele, on the rubbing alcohol, it usually removes permanent marker but it depends on the surface. Good luck!
Try WD40
I think I used a Mr. Clean sponge....it worked great. I bought a chair on wheels for a dollar at a garage sale because it had marker on it....check out Mr.Clean.ca for more info....just remember to use gloves as the sponge can cause a chemical burn...
plain hand sanitizer on a terry cloth rag.
try WD 40. it seems to clean everything. if not, seal with KILZ before repainting
