What do you spray with to kill caterpillars on azaleas?

    2 C.water, half a dozen cloves mashed in 1/4 C hot water strain add.garlic juice, 1/4 C.Dawn. Won't hurt plants I use it on my orchids for aphids, spray whenever I see the bugs

    See if you can find out what butterfly goes with that caterpillar. Numbers are dwindling rapidly and you would be making that number go down with each one you kill. Put it in a jar with a leaf to eat and find a nearby woods or field and let it go.

    Oh, no, please don't spray! Have you identified the catapillars? If not, please do that before doing anything else. Be sure you don't have a fledgling beneficial that's protected. If these are pest catapillars, pick off what you see and check for eggs on the underside of the leaves. Mix 1 teas baking soda with 1 teas blue Dawn added to 1 gal water, then spray the plant, top and underside of the leaves, allowing the solution to drip to the soil around the plant. Check the plant every couple of weeks, and repeat the spray.
