Approximately ten tiles, black grout. I have no experience. I have received quotes much more than I thought $450.00 minimum.

Hmm. If they are square, take a hammer and a steel chisel and bust them out. Clean the mess up, buy new tiles and spacers, glue and grout, a sponge and grout trowel. Apply glue with a trowel made for this, put in spacers, lay down tile. Mix grout, trowel it in, let sit then sponge it clean. Home Depot or hardware store will help with your supplies.

Sounds easier than it is. It is actually very difficult to break up ceramic tile. I say this from experience. Because you only have ten to remove it may be worth the time and difficulty to do this, Idk. But, you also have to hang plastic to block off the rest of the room because "busting" up ten ceramic tiles and grout causes quite a bit of dust. The quote of $450 for material and labor is really pretty reasonable.
