Diatomaceous earth is deadly for insects and harmless to people/pets. It works best dry, so it will need to be re-applied after watering or rain and is commonly available at Lowes/Home Depot or at pool supply places.

I use cayenne pepper powder, garlic powder a few drops of dish soap in a spray bottle, About a tablespoon of each powder, shake well and spray. Sometimes your prayer will get clogged tho, due to the powders, but it should rinse out. You'll need to reapply every few days and after it rains, but I have had good luck with that mixture

a few drops of dish soap in a spray bottle of water works if used consistently. some insects like tomato worms have to be picked off and destroyed. Toads. Hummingbirds, and ladybugs will also eat insects. Squash bugs may have to be picked off and sprayed several times a day until under control
