Coneflowers, Marigolds, Canna bulbs all can do quite well in full sun-you will need to flower daily and I would recommend in the beginning watering in the early am and later in the day.

Look up your plant zone. It should tell you there what will grow or not.

Do you mean a vegetable garden or a flower garden? I'll assume that you mean a flower garden. Stick to the native plants or (local variations of them) that are already acclimated to the climate and soil conditions of Arizona. Keep in mind that full sun in Arizona also means intense sun. If you plants species that don't tolerate conditions like this, you'll be watering constantly and they still might not survive or thrive.

Your best bet is to visit a garden store/nursery in your area. They will give you the best advice & have perfect plants for you. Don't forget to 'feed' and water as appropriate for your plants for the best performance.

Cactus, and lots of stones. Whatever grows out in the desert is perfect for your yard...

I just moved to So. California from Oregon and trying to figure out gardening in this heat, sun and no rain. I went to my local nursery where they had plants under a covered area and some in full sun. I just shopped in the full sun area, figuring they were the experts. I bought several plants I liked and they are doing fine.

I have two in my front yard. One big fat grey one and one skinny gray one. I'm going to paint them Yellow and make them Minions. I just hope the county or utility company won't mind. We'll see.
