Not sure your exact vision, but Pinterest is a good place to look around for ideas:

i just made a great memorial for my two boys, though not fancy like a mosaic. I found a great granite stone about the size of a semi flat basketball. I got patio paint and hand painted their names on the stone. I used white, then did a black line down the left side of each letter to make them stand out. Use a script brush. If you unsure of doing it that was just get a letter stencil. Easy please. Try it out first on a brown paper bag. I love the natural look of the rock.

Hello Debbie; I am very sorry for the loss of your sweet pet. If you have not done so, Please look on Google. Please type in; "3D mosaic memorial marker for pets grave" You should get several hits, and this will give you so many ideas on what you wish to do.

Personally, what I have done before is to go to a craft store, and choose a premade marker.

I then take it apart, and cover the shape with something much studier. I have used quick set concrete. I cover the marker and let dry for days.

I then gather small stones, glittery pieces, anything that reminds me of the pet.

I use clear drying heavy duty glue, called E6000.

I hope that this helps you!! Take Care!

Thanks for all of your suggestions and condolences. Sammy was 15 1/2 and although elderly, passed away unexpectedly from a tail injury. We are heartbroken and I wanted to do something with my grandchildren to honor Sammy that they will be proud of. His passing was their first loss in their young lives. They are more creative than me, thus me thinking mosaic. He was a loyal companion, who had people in his step after being groomed and was a Shepherd-border Collie mix. Thanks again. Peace and blessings!
