Can a diy-er install a walk in shower?

    I'm not saying that you can't , just saying that it isn't easy to do. So do your homework and be prepared for hard and messy. My sons do this professionally and there's a reason they get paid well for it. It took a while for them to perfect the craft, learn to use the tools properly to cut tile around the drain and edges . If you have ever tiled a floor and you are familiar with hardyback, thin set , grout, etc. you can probably do it . Watch some YouTube videos and know that working with a vertical surface slightly changes things . Good luck !

    My husband and I turned a small bedroom into a bathroom about 35 years ago- before internet. We did put in a tub so only had to tile the walls. I wasn't a very difficult task. I would never do a tile shower/or tile a tub area without using the Schluter System.
