My oven is 13 years old. The oven works sometimes; sometimes not. ?

I read the manual and increased the heat. That worked for three weeks. Now the oven does not heat. Do I need a new stove?

Chances are that your oven has gotten to the point where it is probably better to replace it than to spend a lot of money on repairs. Unfortunately, appliances just don't last as long as they used to.

There is a small button type thermostat that regulates the temperature in the oven, usually in the back towards the top. Your owner's manual should show you where it is. Also, Youtube it or AppliancePros.com might be of help. You will need to enter your model number so find that first. This is a common fix and easy to FIY. If that doesn't work, it is probably the control board in that case a new one is money better spent.

If it's 13 years old and you use it a lot, I'd take this opportunity to get a new unit. If you can wait for a great sale time, do that. Otherwise, you may have to call in a technician to assess and repair the oven. That will also be expensive and you will still have a 13 year old unit with one new part. When I had this problem, we decided it was better in the long run to spend the money and get a new stove rather than try to repair something over 10 years old.

Could just be the heat element if electric if gas it would be therastate. Best bet have repair man come to check it out, then balance costs of repairs to new unit

It is a possibility that you just need a new element. I have replaced several over the years. You usually can pick one up at your local Home Depot or Lowes.

You probably need the ignitor replaced. DIY for $20. Check YOUTUBE for instructions.

me coverage even after I told the sales lady the fridge you can get an in-home warranty that will send a service tech into your home to repair any of your appliances. You can cover each appliance separately from one, two,or three years in duration. If they have to service an appliance three times in one year they have to buy you an appliance equal to the one you have covered. Also,if they mess up and don't respond to your reported request for service,or if there is a foul -up with parts where no action is taken for twenty one days they are required to replace what they were suppose to be fixing. We got a new side-by-side refrigerator because of that very thing.I live out in the country, far from town, and am elderly. This is a great deal for us.They said they would sell coverage even with existing problems on the fridge,so it might be an avenue for you to explore.
