Would it devalue my fireplace to paint it out in white? It is currently gray brick.
We have built-ins on either side of our gray brick fireplace, and I would love to paint the fireplace out in white. However, my husband feels it would be a bad idea.
You definitely need to talk to an expert if you are going to paint on concrete. The prep and paint type are critical to it adhering and lasting a long time. This is a great investment for an organize garage.
There are quite a few concrete paints I the market. Some include additional flecks of color that also make it slip resistant. If you park inside your garage, be sure to use one specifically made to withstand the heat of the tires sitting on it. The trick is to clean to surface of the garage very well. All oils, dirt and other strains need to be removed first. Or the paint won't stick well.

I used the Rustoleum garage floor epoxy, it goes on easy and looks great. They have a one car garage kit or a 2 car garage kit. I put it on with a cheap chip brush for the wall seams and a regular roller on a long handle for the rest. I used the gray one (with blue and white paint chips) on both the garage and porch floors. They have other colors.
