Hello Purple Lady; I have honestly found that by simply freezing my candles well before using that they are mostly dripless!!
I hope that this helps you!! Take Care!
You can buy candle drip rings...not sure what they are really called. They are round metal and fit over the candle and rest on the candle holder top. The rings are about an inch or so.
Some say to put them in the freezer before using. Buy dripless candles or at least good quality ones. You can get rings to put around the candle for this purpose. This is not a new idea. You might find the rings at an antique store. Set the candles on a tray.
Peg : that's awesome. I've never heard that before. Have to use candles when electricity goes out. Thank you so much.
Just set the drippy tapers on a plate lined with paper.
The candle rings are called bobeches, just google it and you find places where they sell them. Some of them are really nice.
Tapers are going to drip ALWAYS. Either buy plastic or glass bobeches (very inexpensive, any gift store that sells candles will sell them) to fit around the base of the candle where it meets the candlestick OR freeze your tapers and light them while still frozen. Yes, they will still drip but much less so!

Buy the candles in the tall glasses at the Dollar Tree for emergencies, they last longer, are safer too. https://www.dollartree.com/Glass-Jar-Candles-8-/p334989/index.pro
Buy a couple oil lanterns for the house, least you can read by them. Check thrift stores, hardware stores.
Great suggestions . Thanks.
I will use all the shared suggestions. WOW.
