Left over tiles separate your home from the rest.
We live in a game reserve in the Eastern part of South Africa. It is where the Kruger National Park, Mozambique and Swaziland come together. I wanted to show you this picture because you need to understand that we do not have an ordinary home. We built it from our community's dumping site, and re-used a lot of things people threw away to build our house with. So this is just to make you understand our house and work a bit better.
I had some leftover mosaic tiles from a previous project and did not want to let it go to waste...so a decided to make use of it on the outside too. This is the tile cement mixed with water that I used. (almost used up as you can see)
Just a few of the tiles I used. For this project I needed to separate it from the cloth it's stuck on ...(in order to tile big pieces of wall i.e. showers, etc)
In started playing around on one of the outside walls - just doing whatever came next. As you can see, we are nowhere finished with the house. It's an ongoing project.
The bigger tiles (Swimming pool size) I used to create a big number that is easily visible from the road. I did not want to put a small wooden sign by the gate - too predictable ... :) I still need to clean the chalk marks and finish it off nicely, but you get the idea.

I think you have one of the coolest houses I’ve ever seen. I think that anyone would be lucky to live here.
the way the world is today we may all have to live in a house like this. You really should start a blog and let everyone see all of your beautiful hard work! I bet it’s pretty cool in the summer heat too!
