DIY IKEA Pendant Light

IKEA has a great many options when it comes to light shades. When combined with a DIY light pendant kit, it is easy to make your own custom light. Here is the quick overview of the steps:
1. Cut the pendant cord to the desired length plus some extra for wiring.
2. Strip about a half an inch of coating off each of the individual wires.
3. Shut off the breaker to the light. Test the light switch to make sure it is off. Safety first!
4. Remove the old light.
5. Wire up the new light.
6. Mount the base cover.
7. Attach the light shade.
8. Restore power and test the light!
