What is it digging up my flowering plants for worms? how to stop it?

    Where do you live? Could it be skunks, Armadillos, or Opossums?

    I know birds will probably dig for worms, but I don't think they would be able to dig up plants.

    possibly raccoons. They don't like bright lights or noise. I set up a tape player with my sons rap music. Neighbors hated me but the raccoons did not return. They are all over my neighborhood

    Thank you all for your responses. Someone suggested to keep old CDs, shiny side up, around the plants. I'm going to try this.

      I think so too because I see the squirrels running in my yard all day long
