What is the best and easiest way to remove old caulk from a tub wall?

I bought a house at the first of the year and removed the shower doors to put up a shower curtain instead. The only thing I couldn't remove was the side pieces that held the frame . The former owner used a massive amount of caulk and I need to remove it.

Putty Knife, Widget, WD 40, Patience, and time are the only way I know of.

Make sure all the screws have been removed that are securing your trim pieces, then start lifting at edges with a stiff putty knife, working a little at a time until it releases. Clean surface with a widget and then finish up with WD 40 and a green pad.

    Hope that helps

there may be a tool to remove calk If careful maybe a screw driver. Don't want to damage tub or cut yourself or as the other lady said a small putty knife. Be careful with razor blades but maybe one of those blades with a handle if you have a steady hand
