Had you thought about putting a contrast behind it (not paint)? There are many temporary products out there. Or you could frame a large swath of fabric that picks up one of the colors in this pretty piece. The easiest would be a bulletin board that is larger than this piece, covered with fabric or paper.

If your thinking of painting because the dream catcher is hard to see, you could paint a wooded palet and hang the dream catcher on that and then hang back on the wall. Or if you find a cool frame just take off the glass and change the background color of the frame to your liking (with paint or fabric, purple suede would be cool), then hang that up on the wall with the dream catcher on it. Hope this makes since! :)

Use a thin piece of plywood and cover with fabric - or paint it with a contrasting color. Place the dream catcher on top. You did a great job on it!

Plan on being there a while? Find out the color of your walls, paint your walls and then have them painted back to original color just before you move. A lot of professionals are affordable if you don't want to try it yourself.

You can hand a piece of cloth that is a darker color and exactly the same size and shape as the dream catcher.

I would definitely go with the suggestion that Cynthia gave you. That was what I was going to suggest.

  • Command hooks and fabric to the rescue! Make a curtain out of any fabric you choose, or buy a pretty flat sheet. Make a curtain rod from pvc pipe, place on command hooks. Make pretty diy finials for the end of the pvc rod.

What about hanging the dream catcher on a large piece of wood? You could even put a frame on the outside of the wood. Just an idea.

go to a head shop, buy a large cheap throw like to cover a sofa, and hang it begin the dreamcatcher as a background. hang it with thumb tacks. if you're in an old building you'll need a hammer to set the tacks, as the walls are hard plaster, not drywall. if you have drywall, no problem. when you move, use the edge of a knife to lift the thumbtacks away from the wall carefully and you will be left with a few tiny holes. which fall under normal wear and tear as far as the landlord goes.

You could also apply a piece of contrasting fabric behind using liquid starch that you can remove easily when/if you move. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/how-to-make-removable-fabric-w-74483

Hello Vicky; Your Dream Catchers are Beautiful!!

If I were you, I would purchase either a solid piece of Fabric,

(Make sure that it is not one of the colors that is on your Dream Catchers)

Or else a large poster, that is a solid color.

You can easily hang by using Command products.

You can also frame the Fabric or poster by using a contrasting fabric to go around the entire piece.

If you are able to locate a large enough frame, you can make your own picture using the Dream Catcher pieces.

There are endless options on what you can do with this!!

I hope that I have helped you!! Take Care!

What if you try and hang fabric from the actual rod (don't know what else to call it) of the dream catcher? Maybe strips of a light weight fabric or ribbons. This would not make it look too heavy.

One method to decorate walls...Using sheets or material cut to fit, soak the sheets in liquid starch and wring out well. Place on walls and the sheet should dry & cling until taken down when you move. Then just wash down the wall.

I just saw where someone created a huge frame and then stapled drop cloth around the frame which then looked similar to a canvas but much cheaper : ) Then you could paint any kind of back drop you wanted for your dream catcher. Just hand the 'canvas' on the wall with removable hangers (3M) and hang the dream catcher on that .
