I know someone who created a cover by using wood to make a frame to go around the outside of the bed. Then he screwed plywood onto the frame. Finally he cut the whole thing in half and added hinges. He drilled into the pick up to attach the cover so it wouldn't fly off on the road. It was an old pick up so he didn't worry about drilling holes in it.
Use a Tarpaulin and bungies
