Tinting the glass on my entertainment center doors

Hi, The glass on the doors of my entertainment is clear. Although the equipment, CD's and DVD's are arranged neatly, to me, it still creates a "clutter" feeling. I would like to inexpensively tint the glass so that what's inside is not visible. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

There is spray product you can get to "frost" the glass. Also, there are some really lovely films that can be put on the glass. Check Home Depot or Lowes.

I used what was supposed to be a "clear" contact paper and got a lovely frosted look. We didn't do it to hide anything, but to protect toddlers and contain the glass in case of breakage.

Katie and Cathy, Thank you! I never even thought of a spray or contact paper....but I'm open to your great ideas! I'm off to Lowe's and Home Depot to see what they have and to check out films. Possibilities! I'll let you know how my project turns out.

Have you considered etching the glass or tinting as some do on bottles and jars? See here: http://www.wikihow.com/Tint-Bottles-and-Jars

Not sure if this would go with your piece, but Looking Glass paint sprayed on glass looks like Mercury glass. Let us know what you decided.

The translucent spray is amazing. I have used it on French doors to limit viewing in, a shower window that fronted the porch and exterior lighting with lace as a spray template. If you get tired of it razor it off.

Okay, everyone, now I have to make a decision! So many suggestions and ideas! I've never posted a question before and am glad I did. Except now for the decision making! I will let everyone know what I decide. I suppose nothing has to be permanent!

In making a decision, perhaps you could try a few of your top choices on an odd piece of glass or a thrift store picture frame glass. You'll know quickly if your remote works and the look is what you want. We want pictures when you've finished your redo.
