I made this small console table out of left over decking lumber. I wanted a table to hold our window air conditioner, should it be needed, at the cottage. It had to fit just "so" and it had to be made of solid wood to withstand being outside.

I cut pieces of decking to to fit across the window ledge and to be just the right width and height to hold the air conditioner.
After constructing the basic frame and legs out of the decking material, I rubbed on solid white stain, waited for it to dry, then sanded it down to get that pickled look. For the lower shelf I used a piece of weathered lumber that I found under one of the sheds.
I found this old plywood cupboard door that I cut to fit, cleaned up and stained with a nice dark red stain. Then finished it off with a satin polyurethane.
It makes a good top for the table.
II left the hole from its knob, and just popped a piece of old dock hardware into the hole. It can just be lifted out when and if we have to put the air conditioner on there.
I added some decorations of old metal things...some dock hardware, and these staples that I found after the hydro crew had replaced poles and lines.
finished table
Now that it's finished I almost don't want to use it for the air conditioner! So far this summer it hasn't been an issue, not very hot around here!
