Thanks all for your kind words, means a lot to me!!
Cathy G, I bet! This combo would look even better in bigger kitchen.
Barb M, you are quite right. This picture is not doing justice to the black splash. In reality it's much more shinier and prettier. If possible, please share picture of your project.
Preeti, this looks super! I love the re-stain of the Cherrywood cabinets! I also like the fact that you mixed very traditional style cabinets with sleek modern hardware. Changing from the white appliances and the white granite tile countertops to stainless appliances and granite slab countertops made a remarkable difference in updating this kitchen. I was curious as to what you did with the microwave? Did you get a microwave drawer? This kitchen definitely has wow factor! Great Job! TMW
Thank you so much for your kind words Tonya. One thing I must say that you are a keen observer! You pointed out all the details in this project. I wanted a modern functional kitchen. When I saw these cabinet, I just fell in love with them specially the finish and decided to bring them on broad. To make them look modern, accessorized them with Sleek hardware:) I am glad that you liked the idea of modern/ traditional fusion I have created. Regarding microwave, from the past 4 years I have microwave free kitchen.
gorgeous work...love your color combo and it's surprising how much bigger the space looks with the new flooring. I like you, don't use my microwave very often but elected to keep it and installed it in the lower cabinetry so it's not as obvious.
@Imagery, I swear! Good to know that you are Microwave free too. I think not many people are that way so may be this is the reason they find it strange.
Preeti, we have been Micro-less for about 3 years. People always ask how we survive with out it. It's a little adjustment at first, but after a couple of weeks, you adjust and the food you prepare, or the re-heating of food so much better, and better for you! I have 7 children, 5 are still at home, and they never complain!
We are weaning ourselves of the microwave...we went from a monster unit that ate up the entire corner counter of the kitchen to a smallish unit that I put in a "hanging" shelf. 95% of its use is with my girls heating up a cup of milk for "hot chocolate".....at this point I would prefer this then them dirtying up many pots and pans.
I'm trying to convert my family to a microwave free world also .. there maybe an uprising, but I'm going for it ... beautiful Kitchen. Just beautiful. and functional. Since I "started" to cook again, I'm doing alittle rearranging myself. Thanks for sharing. lots of ideas for me.
I personally had smll but i called med.size farm house and liked my kitchen didn't have torun a lot from here to there, the refrig. and stove was gas stove didn't really care about micro. and the dining table was everthing just right in amed. size farm house with my back patio door with the porch going outside to feed my dog in back yard and another acre of chickens, goats, and animal's with big barn.was all convenient for me and with a little hall at kitchen that led to wash room and to garage!

I agree with KMS, it adds up work particularly loads of dirty dishes to clean. But I think it's just a matter of getting use to it.
@Jackie, good luck with your project. I'm sure you will do a fab' job!
