I was not a fan of the builders grade, over-sized wall mirror in the bathroom but didn't want the expense and trouble of removing it. My son took measurements (width and height) and we headed to Home Depot. We purchased white MDF boards (no painting required) and he cut them to size at the store. We also bought liquid nail and 4 MDF white 4x4 rosettes for the corners.
ORIGINAL BORING MIRROR
Before: large and boring mirror
New boards held in place with boxes & brooms
During: We applied liquid nail to one board at a time and affixed to the mirror with a little pressure. We didn't want to hold the boards in place until the glue dried so we rigged boxes and broom sticks to apply light pressure to hold them in place until the glue set. NOTE: We used painters tape for additional support. as pictured.
AFTER: Looks so much nicer and we love it!
After: We applied the 4x4 rosettes in each corner and voila! It looks like a completely different room!
