Cut and come again? Annuals? Perennials? Figure out which plants will give you the biggest bang for your buck - and your space - BEFORE you plant your spring garden.
Once you pull a carrot, the plant is done. That's all she wrote.
Lettuce is an annual, but a "cut and come again" plant. Instead of pulling the entire plant, you can cut off leaves as you need them, harvesting for a couple of months.
Artichokes are perennials, remaining in the ground and producing fruit over the course of several years.
