Toilet Seat Problem

How can I fix a toilet seat that will not stay up when a male tries to use it??

    I would think that would be common sense it needs replacement

    Maybe try loosening the two screws. Might stop making it close up.

    A couple things can cause this. Loosen the nuts that hold the seat to the bowl and slide the seat all the way towards the front of the bowl. Check the tank from front to back with a level. If it is tipped forward, the seat will not stay up. Many toilets come with rubber shims to place between the tank and bowl that will solve this problem. If it is one of those "comfortable" fluffy foam seats, that may be the problem. Good luck.

    Yes!! Toilet seats are a dime a dozen, unless you are a government official, put the toilet seat down, and get a new one.

    1. Attach a flat magnet to the underside of the seat.

    Attach a ferromagnetic metal to a short string attached to a hook attached to the side of the cistern:

    2. Alternatively, attach a cord around the cistern and adjust it with one of those spring tighteners you find on waterproof jackets and hold the seat up
