Along with its multitude of other uses in the kitchen, salt can be used as a natural, nontoxic sink cleaner. Because of its abrasive and antiseptic properties, saltwater scours the pipes lightly to remove built-up grease and grime while simultaneously absorbing and flushing out odors and nasty bacteria. Pour Salt Into Your Sink with hot saltwater once or twice a month to prevent blockages and mold growth. You might never need to call a plumber again.
