This depends on the soil, and where it is in the lot. Some plants can't take the extreme heat, so it needs sun/shade. Pay heed when you plant flowers. We use a covered porch, and have GREAT BLESSINGS. J.

Most soil in Florida is sand based so it is harder to grow things.

Hello Kathy; It depends on where you live in Florida.

Also, typically you need to build up your soil, no matter where you live in this World!!!!

It is easy enough to do, as all I do for my soil is to add Composted material, Peat, Cow manure, and plain soil. I mix well, and I pot plants with this, as well as using it in my yard with plants.

Fertilizer, Sun and shade also play an important part in how plants will grow, as well as how they look!!!

I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!
